Promptify help
Short, task-oriented guides for the editor, the iPad prompter and the phone remote. New here? Start with Getting started.
- Getting startedPromptify is a teleprompter in three parts. You write scripts on a laptop, read them on an iPad, and control the scroll from your phone.
- Writing scriptsWrite in the editor on the left, and check the prompter preview on the right as you type. Everything saves automatically.
- Importing scriptsBring in a script you already have: a Google Doc, a Word file, Markdown or plain text. Each imported file becomes a new script that you can edit like any other.
- Refining a script with AIRefine with AI asks Gemini to edit your script for reading aloud. You might want it tighter, more conversational, shorter, or with delivery cues added. You see every proposed change before anything is saved.
- The iPad prompterThe prompter is a web app that you install on the iPad. It keeps a copy of your scripts, so it works with no internet once it has synced.
- The phone remoteUse any phone (or a laptop) as a remote for the iPad: play, pause, speed, sections, text size and mirror. The remote talks to the iPad directly over your local network. Nothing you press goes through the Promptify server.
- TroubleshootingFixes for the most common problems: the remote can't connect, the camera won't open, sign-in in the installed app, and scripts that look out of date.
